St Bartholomew’s Orchestra
Concert and rehearsal information
The
high-light of the concert on 1 November in Saint John the Evangelist
Church SE19 was Elgar's 'cello concerto, played by Australian
'cellist Linda Lin. She was playing on a 1695 Francesco Ruggeri 'cello
on loan from the Royal Academy of Music, and received prolonged
applause from a large and appreciative audience. Other items were
Mozart's overture 'The Impresario' and Beethoven's 1st symphony, ending
with an encore of a movement from Elgar's 'From the Bavarian
Highlands', altogether a very successful concert.
The Orchestra's next concert is on 20 December at Saint Bartholomew's
Church Ellison Road SW16, a Christmas concert with Saint Bartholomew's
Polphony Choir.
